Japanese Tea Tasting & Ceramic Glazing
what to expect?
Join Mirna from @keep.calm.and.tea for a guided tasting of four distinctive Japanese teas, paired with an evening of ceramic glazing at WerkWerk.
You’ll taste Matcha, Sencha, Hōji Kukicha and Wakōcha, Japanese black tea, and discover their different aromas, colours and flavours. Mirna will guide you through each tea and share how cultivation, processing and preparation shape what ends up in your cup.
While tasting your way through Japanese tea culture, you’ll also get creative with ceramics. Choose two bisque-fired pieces from our selection and make them your own with glazes and colours. We’ll show you everything you need to know about glazing and help you along the way.
Two ceramic pieces are included. And if two aren’t enough, you can simply add more during the workshop :)
No previous tea or ceramics knowledge needed. Workshop held in English.
-
The 2-hour workshop costs €80 per person.
Glazing two ceramic pieces of your choice is included. If you’d like to glaze more, additional pieces can be purchased during the workshop.

The workshop starts with a guided tasting of four Japanese teas led by Mirna from @keep.calm.and.tea. Along the way, you’ll learn more about their flavours, aromas and preparation.
At the same time, you’ll choose two bisque-fired ceramic pieces and glaze them with our colours. We’ll explain everything you need to know about glazing and help you along the way.
After the workshop, we’ll fire your pieces for you. Your finished ceramics will be ready for pickup at WerkWerk about one week after the workshop.
